Sovereign Hill Winter Wonderlights & Daylesford

During the month of July, Sovereign Hill turns into a Winter Wonderland. Visitors to Australia may not know but as Christmas falls in Summer, we also celebrate it in July when it is winter, to get that real Christmassy feel.

Visitors to Sovereign Hill can take a stroll down the main street as snow flakes (YES SNOWFLAKES!) fall at regular intervals. See the Victorian Style buildings with window displays of decorations, You can smell Christmas from all the treats and spices in the air.  They even have Christmas-themed Pantomimes….Oh Yes They Do!

As it gets dark the main street will come alive with an amazing light projection show. Over 20 of the Sovereign Hills buildings will be lit up with large scale image projections and Christmas animations. The light show is set to Christmas-themed music all adding to the magic of Christmas (in July.)

The tour departs Melbourne mid-morning and travels to Daylesford, deep in the heart of spa country, renowned for its revitalising springs. Enjoy the village and main street bursting with character, check out the art galleries and stop in for lunch (at your own expense) in one of the many cafes and eateries on the main street. From here it’s a short trip to Sovereign Hill which recreates Ballarat’s first ten years after the discovery of gold in 1851. This tour is a truly immersive and interactive experience that should not be missed.
